    reaction time is: .75 seconds........ or 1 car length for every 10
    mph......

                0.28 seconds for this old fart.
                Add on the time for recognizing a hazard and the time to decide what to do about it and even your average fighter pilot
                will have taken over a second (that's 88 feet at 60mph) before he initiates any avoidance manouvre.
                Makes you scared to ride, eh?
