  • Turkey Dinner...on Me

    Picture if you will...Off to work..as usual..half asleep..as usual...pushing the envelope..as usual...
And then out of the blue a whole freekin herd of turkeys..right out of the cheap seats
One just missed the windshield (and me) but two of em decided that the low route was the way to go..one bounced off the front tire and the other ened up mostly in between the right side crash bar, the header pipes and the frame. Needless to say after the "pucker factor" wore off I didnt need any coffee too start my day (but it smelled alot like thanksgiving when I parked
Gotta love Mother Nature dont ya?
So..I may be needing a right side crash bar (or both so they match) I havent tried to bend it back yet. But pretty sure it will be ok....
But what a hell of a mess I got to clean off the front of the motor and pipes
    SPEED SLOW!

Turkeys travel in flocks, not herds.

Yeah, but in Highlander's area those 'flocking' turkeys herd the elk. A little XS certainly won't be much of a challenge!

We have some elk down here, but I think there are more up your way. I worry more about the speed beef. Almost got one yesterday morning, coming to work. Coming around a curve about 60MPH, and it was standing broadside in the middle of my lane! I managed to COUNTER STEER enough to just go by it's rear! I could have given it a slap as I went by, but I was just hoping it wouldn't turn and bolt at that time! You can never tell with them. As it turned out, I spent another day at work.

                Deer everywhere

I just took two trips from Nashville to Northern Wisconsin(Spooner) and couldn't belive the number of deer carcases on the side of the interstate in WI, IL and KY. There had to be at least fifty and interstates have fences around them. Makes me a little more concerned about riding at night.

Not a problem. Just wheelie it up and cut one of them in two.....
