Obviously they cant ship on a holiday unless they are a bunch of self avowed communists...but it does say estimated not actual shipping date

I just had the same thing with RideGear. Ordered parts Thursday, ship on Tuesday BECAUSE of Labor Day. We make the choice on order date, they just try to have a three day weekend like the rest of us.

I ordered tires ( pirelli sport demons) on friday afternoon and they shipped the same day. Maybe the parts werent in stock. I hate companys that dont tell you till after processing that they arent in stock.

          Hi Ivan,
yeah, six working days between getting your order and shipping the product.
What exactly are you mad about?

I kinda see the problem. He ordered on Sunday. they had 5 days to ship it. I work for the PO and we would of had it to him if they shipped Mon-Wed.

I really don't feel right about giving my money to someone who is going to wait a week AFTER getting it to ship the part. I just think in today's business place that a 24 hour turn around is a maximum if you want to stay competitive.

If it were an out of stock situation, there should have been a clear advertisement of that. To this point, there has been no such speak. So I am left to believe it takes a week from the order going in to get the guy to pull the part, stick it in a mailer and ship it.

It's funny how our perception of time changes. I can still remember back in the 60's when I mail-ordered a Crosman BB gun. Cost me $13.00!!! It took all of three weeks to arrive. At that time it was about right.

Now when I order something I get impatient after five days.

You know Rodger, I call this the age of instant gratification. It is amazing how with "fast food" and IMs and text messaging, cell phones, that we expect answers instantly. Heck even XS11.com supports the habbit, prior to internet how in the heck could you find the technical support on a 30 yo bike with answers in between 10 minutes to an hour in most cases even at what is the middle of the night for you. Astounding to say the least.

I do understand Ivan's point though, they had no problem taking his money instantly and not waiting, but can't get his part out the door for seven days?

I HATE waiting!! I can understand the frustration... With today's information technology, I can see giving a max of 2 business days to allow for some human error or heavy workload. That assumes that the order was placed before the first day's cut-off time. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays can always be excepted from those business days as well.

So, if an order is placed on Sunday, I figure it should ship out no later than the end of the day on Tuesday (assuming that Monday was not a holiday).

Unfortunately, there are a lot of companies that don't try as hard as I wish they would to get their goods out the door. Of course, we don't know what the overhead is like at these companies. For all we know, it's some guy working out of his garage, and he works on our stuff after getting home after his regular job. The internet allows people of all sorts to sell stuff with considerable anonymity.

On the brighter side, I ordered some stuff from Motorcycle Pro Shop, and within an hour they called me. A very polite gentleman said "We don't have your [part] in stock, which will make that a special order. It will take a couple weeks to get it, and if you can't wait, we understand. I can cancel your order with no fee."

Pretty impressive. I told them to go ahead with the order, since it isn't absolutely necessary for the bike to be ride-able. Unfortunately, its the "optional" things that are hardest to wait on.
