XS Spotted (and tagged) in Jasper

Ran into a guy on an 80G in Jasper, AB, yesterday. Nice shape, 24K kms.

He said he has beenon this site, a few times, just lurking, but hopefully he will ask questions as he is in need of some assistance.

He said he was having a hard time finding some basic parts, and he was having a tough time greasing the front brake calipers....

Hopefully he will stop in and say hi, as we were all new once.
Nice day, if it doesn't rain...

Um.... I'm sure everyone knows this but you do grease the 2 bolts the caliper slides on (not the mounting bolts). On a Special you grease the pivot bolt.
If the caliper binds on this/these bolts you will only be using one pad and not both (at least equally).

He was trying to grease the bleeder screws. He didn't believe me when I told him what they are.

That's just scary!! Someone like that shouldn't even be DRIVING, let alone working on a bike! I sure hope he gets a manual and reads it...

I wonder if this was the same guy that changed his oil with the bike running (because the maual said to run the bike to get the oil warm) and then wondered why the engine froze up? I remember seeing a post about that awhile back.

Luckily, as long as he didn't back the bleeder screw out, the grease wouldn't make it anywhere important.

he couldn't get the bleeder screws to loosen, but I am not sure how he was trying. I find an 8mm box end, and the bleeder either moves or snaps off.
