      Only see a BLACK HOLE!?

I think I've seen this before, however, my laptop won't run the Java Applet!

I did all of the trouble shooting stuff on the Java site, NO GO!?

I deleted ALL previous versions of JRE(Java Runtime Environment), as well as the latest ver 6 up 15, then rebooted, then did the offline reinstall of JRE, received NO install error messages, and it still won't D/L or run the applet??

Running WinXP Home, SP3, JRE 6 upd. 15, old dell Insp 1000 laptopwith only 512 MB ram...max capacity , 2.2 Ghz Mobile Celeron CPU. Never had any problems with JRE before....HOWEVER I did D/L and install the Open Office Suite of programs which I think also came with the JRE, but the JRE was uninstalled as stated above, so don't think it has anything to do with it??

            Reduce, ReUse, ReCycle, RESTART.

            TC,

Applet ran fine on Internet Explorer and Google Chrome in my case. Both browsers share the same "settings".

If you're using IE, then click on <tools>, <internet options>, and then open the Advanced tab. Scroll down and you'll see that the java applet is there alright but it requires a Restart.

See if doing that works for you.

(I'm on an old Dell similar to yours...)
