Thanks Big Mic! I am told that I can accept "offline" donations, and I can just bring them with me to the ride, in the "ADA Donations Collection Envelope". Unfortunately, I have not received that envelope. I have a few co-workers who have asked that question as well, but I figured I would have received the collection envelope by now, so I didn't call them yet. I'll call the local ADA office in the morning and find out the details on collection offline donations, and I'll post back here with that info.

I wanted to thank everyone who donated to this cause. Because of the incredible generosity of the folks on this site, a few people at my job, and 2 of my family members, I have now raised almost $650!! I am truly blown away by the support I received from this site, and I thank you all.1980 XS850SG - Sold

Thanks agsain to everyone who donated for this ride. It was a rather popular event here, with hundreds of bikes. I do believe, though, that I had the oldest bike there. The closest was a Honda GL1100 Interstate that had obviously seen some miles. Everything else was newer bikes with too much chrome There were several Goldwing trikes, and a few Hardley trikes too. I just thought I'd post a few pictures of the event.
The leader of our group told me before we left that he didn't think he had ever had either of his two bikes over 80mph. I found out what that meant the had way, when he lead us onto the highway for a short piece of our ride. I was right behind him, and it was all I could do to keep from passing him on the entrance ramp! We took a few nice scenic roads, unfortunately, we stayed under the speed limit the whole time...
Here's a couple shots of the group before we departed
Here's a few of the sea of bikes at the event
And mine in the middle there
This was a rather nice Honda of some kind, with some really spiffy custom lighting. I like the front suspension - though it's REALLY complicated!
The leader of our group had a personalized plate that SWMBO and I couldn't agree on the meaning of. It read "SOOEEY". I thought it was a tongue-in-cheek reference to law enforcement, while she thought it was referring to the fact that his bike was a "hog".Last edited by CatatonicBug; 09-28-2009, 09:47 AM.1980 XS850SG - Sold
