  • Best eye protection

What's the best setup everyone has found for eye protection? I wear glasses, and prefer an open face helmet over a full face one. I find myself tearing up at highway speeds just wearing my regular glasses. Anyone found a good "wrap around" style glasses that will also incoporate prescription lenses?

Had a peak at a workmates setup today. He has a wraparound setup with different coloured lenses for day, night, and bright sun. He has a special prescription lense that snaps into the back of it. When his prescription changes, he just gets that changed and keeps using the wraparound setup. He said he thinks this particular setup is for skiing, but the optometrist recommends it for m/c's and is a m/c rider himself.

I wear perscription (photogray) glasses inside of face shield (fullface, slightly open when it's warm), behind windshield of Pacifico fairing (usually). At the moment I have the bike nekkid as the fairing is cracked and awaiting repairs. I do have a small windshield that takes some of the wind blast off my chest. More air noise and head buffetting but that's the compromise. It's tall enough to tuck behind at speed (over 100 mph) as long as I don't have the tank bag. Freeway speeds need tach or 'seat of the pants' feel for engine speed.

        eye wear

What about contacts man? I wear mine when I ride and wear a pair of Gargoyle style Sunglasses. 0% troubles ever passing a convoy of Semi's at 80mph on the Highway. I know what its like to have your glasses almost riped off your face while riding. VERY scarey.

That route is alot cheaper than some of the other options. One option is a pair of script sunglasses. BUT, some of those can be rather expensive. Just talk to your local optomitrist ofice that provides safety glasses too(they'll have a larger variety) about it.

Gargoyle sunglasses...you can order from them an insert for perscription lenses, then take it to your glasses place and have it filled. It just plugs onto the replacement nose piece the send you with it.
