It was a huge system too. A young girl was killed in Calgary by flying debris and a buddy in Eckville got his windows broken. So this storm covered hundreds of miles devastating things everywhere.

Had a smaller system go through last night, in the Hinton/Jasper park area.

We were up at Miette Hot Springs, having a soak in the pool, the weather was bright and sunny.

All of a sudden the power went out, the sky clouded over, and they kicked everyone out of the pool. By the time we got dressed, it was POURING outside. So much so that I got too wet, just getting to the parking lot, to bother putting the rain suit on. Lots of lightning, and big huge raindrops. No hail, thankfully.

We headed down the mountain, and there were dozens of trees knocked down onto the road, mostly on the uphill side of the road, but it was dark, dumping rain and hard to see w/o having to jump any trees.

On the main highway, all the cars were dawdling along at 35-45mph.

Once we got back to town, stopped at the local coffee shop and left a nice pool of water in front of the regsiter!
Nice day, if it doesn't rain...
