You're right that bike is not worthy of you ...you'll have to sell it to me...LOL Welcome to Ch11. Really nothing to be ashamed of at all...we have seen many bikes that dont look this good! It doesnt seem to matter what it is or how good we think we have it...someone else has a better example...but all in all pretty decent for a 29 year old bike... BTW who did the repaint? It looks good in black and thats a Jardine Spaghetti exhaust quite hard to find

One of the PO's did the painting. The last PO put a wiseco 1179 kit in it. But when I checked there was no air filter!?

It should have 10.25 compression now, does that justify running premium? And I put valvoline maxlife 20/50 in it.

Nice to know the pipes are jardine, Thanks. What about the mufflers? They seem awful quiet and restrictive.

Would drilling some holes back here help/hurt?

No reason to use Premium fuel in these bikes. It's just a waste of money. Definitely put an air filter in before you do any more riding (if you haven't already done so). I would not suggest drilling holes in the pipes. The "restrictive" nature of the muffler is actually a GOOD thing. The carbs need some back-pressure to function properly. These bikes are plenty loud as they are - no need to make them louder. It will only cause you headaches down the road. I would suggest you baby those headers though. Don't let the folks around here get too close to them, or you'll be polishing their drool marks off!

I never meant to infer I wasnt happy with my bike. It was meant more as a compliment to some of them on here! For 29 years old Im very happy. Last Yamaha I had was a 1973 750. Im not even gonna mention what I rode inbetween here .

So even with the big bore kit and higher compression no premium?

                          My 2 cents

OK, I am going to go against the grain here, but your bike sucks.

The pipes are all squiggly and weird looking. They need to be sent to me for disposal asap.

There is nowhere near enough dirt or bugs on it. So it is obvious to anyone that it needs a home where it is ridden xs'ivly. See previous sentence for solution.

I also noticed that there are no scrape marks on the pipes (uugly aren't they?), so my suggestion is to sent this ride immediately to trbig to remedy this.

Welcome to ch11, home of general mayhem and madness. Hopefully you will keep us posted as you rectify all the problems I listed.
