Did it actually bite you? If not, I don't see how you would have anything to worry about. In college a friend of mine his a dog with his car. He stopped and got out to see if he could do anything for the dog as it was still alive. The dog bit him and then ran off. He ended up having the shots as a precaution.

Well.... I got the shot
That S.O.B hurt SO BAD!!! had to get one in the left arm, one in the right arm, and 3 in the A$$!!!
Then they had to massage my but, kinda weird and not cool since it was one old lady and the other, no comment. But now I am happy to tell you that this is not the end of it. I get to go back 4 more times. one in 3 days, 7 days, 14 days, and 28 days.... funny how that works out to be the days of the month too!
Thank yall for thinkin about me. yall are a good bunch of folks and ill be glad to ride with yall anytime, unless you throw FAKE BATS at me *cough cough* todAustin Ingalls

Hey Austin, and Xsives,
You can get rabies from exposure to the bats saliva, not necessarily a bite, like from an open wound, scratch, etc.! Secondly, according to the CDC, when a bat flies out in the daytime, or can not fly effectively, it's most likely infected with Rabies. It's fortunate that he was able to get the bat and have it tested. Better to be taking the treatment because you know you need it, than just as a preventative measure cause you might not be sure of exposure! Rabies is fatal to humans when it's not treated. Sorry you have to go thru this, but glad that medicine has this treatment available, the alternative isn't so nice!
