  • Slow loading/displaying of Main Page!

Is it just me, or has the server for the XS11.com site gotten a bit slow? For the past couple of weeks, every time I click on the address to go to the main XS11 web page, it takes 30 seconds or more for it to load. I'm on Cable, and once I get the page, then everything else seems to work properly and quickly. I don't have my browser set to dump the cache when I'm done browsing, so it should be there from visiting it the previous day, like many of my other pages are!? Running Win98 with all security updates, IE and OE6. McAfee AV running. And I have never logged out/off of XS11.com, not even sure if I could log back in now if I did! Okay, just wanted to see if anybody else is experiencing same lag/delays!?

I'm on cable here, TC, no lag on loading main page. Maybe some kind of latency issue between your isp and the xs11 isp, who knows. Here's hoping it cures itself

Had similar problem last week. Page cannot be displayed, or server cannot be located, or something like that. Then two days later, back to normal...

i'm on cablemodem here and T3 at work and always see the same thing topcat is talking about. seems like it stalls quite awhile at the startup page before going anywhere. i first noticed it around a month or so ago.

the site starts to load, then it sits blank at the top of the page with "Last updated: Tuesday, 26-Feb-2002 12:54:53 MST" at the top. sits there for 30 seconds as TC says, and when it finally loads everything everything else is speedy.

xs11.com must dislike microsoft. I see the problem only when using internet explorer. Loading the page using mozilla (netscape) comes up just fine.

Try an alternate DNS number? These pages have a lot of graphics, and your ISP might be having bandwidth / routing problems. I have a 56K and not seeing this problem.

Or, go to Google and search for "slow cable modem" and see what pops up. Some other folks have this problem.

also - in internet explorer if I type in www.xs11.com/forum it loads immediately. only when I type in www.xs11.com.

                  (not a speed/dns problem)

I am having the same problem on the cable modem load up. Seems to be fine afterwards. I thought it was just me. Maybe JP has changed something?
