  • windjammer snap covers

Just found this site yesterday, what a treasure!!!
My dilemma is that I,m looking to se if anybody out there has a clue about finding replacement snap covers for the Windjammer fairing. Believe or not these are original ('78) and were in fine shape until last year!
Been to the vetter site and that didn't have any. Anybody?

If you've still got the covers that "were in fine shape until last year", try taking them to an upholstery shop. They should be able to use an old cover as a pettern to make you a new one.

Local upholsterer made a set for SWMBOs XS750F last year. Looks good even without the two straps that go across. Personally I'd look into making some covers from fiberglass that can be locked.

          locking cover

pat ....I'm going to want those straps. really come in handy for caps, gloves mags etc.. My windjammer has one vinyl cover (left) and one locking fiberglass. Idon''t know how hard they are to find but there must be some out there. LOL

Hey guys, don't forget eBay! I picked up a complete set for my wife's Quicksilver fairing and even the "hard cover" for my Windjammer. Try: www.umgweb.com Then in the search box type in Vetter. The fairing pocket covers show up pretty often.

              redoing snap cover

Here's an idea( that i'll be doing shortly, waiting on money), take that, your seat, etc to a local custom sewing shop. let them make all new for you in leather all the way around. Fortunately my sister works for one here and the own will redo my seat, etc for the cost of the hide (REAL leather=no more sliding on my seat) which is about $75-85 depending on size. Plus $25 labor to pattern it and sew it. The only thing I'M giving here is the extra custom seat with the aftermarket foam and vinyl and a week of my time with the items. total cost will be $30 I've spent for my used seat and $110 with tax and such added. I'm not going to complain about that at all.
