  • Stolen XS11 at XS Northeast

    Fellow XSives -

I wanted to give my full dress 1979 Standard to Tina's older son, Jon, but he wanted a naked bike. So, last month I spent time stripping it down and putting on a stock headlight. I turned it over to him (for $1.00) on Friday May 30 and he got it registered and insured. Saturday he joined our XS Northeast group ride to Grand Falls, NB, his first long ride on the bike. Saturday night (or early Sunday morning), the bike was stolen from the driveway and never recovered. He only got to ride it for a day and a half!

A couple of nights ago at the hospital, Tina spoke to one of the local cops about it. He said that they had pursued a motorcycle on Saturday night, but the guy outran them...

So... I'm giving Jon my ' 81 Suzuki GS850L. So, I'll have to share Tina's 1980 GS750L until I can fix either my 1985 GS550E, or 1987 GSX-R1100. Honest, I'm not partial to Suzukis, they just came along at the right price. Pretty soon I won't have too many bikes!

Detaills on the bike are as follows...
    • 1979 dark blue XS1100F (Standard)
    • Naked
    • S/S brake lines front and rear
    • Repaired coils (new wires)
    • New fuse box with spade fuses
    • Old MAC 4:2 exhaust header, painted black, with Harley
      Sportster mufflers
    • One side cover has mis-matched blue metallic paint.
    • New rear tire
If anyone hears of a similar bike being sold, whole or in parts, please let me know.

    Thanks,
    Bill K.

Hey sorry to hear of your loss, hope you get it back one way or another! Anyway a couple of years back a friend had a couple of dirt bikes stolen out of his shop. I used parents out of town address and phone number to place wanted add in local paper for bikes of same year and models. He did get his bikes back but not due to my add, guilty brother turned him in. Anyway it was / is worth a try, if the idiots are stupid enough to steal they are probably stupid enough to answer the add, if they see it. Worth a try anyhow?
