Hi guys and happy Fourth of JULY!!!!!!!!! I have a problem...I can't seem to notice/see red turn signals in the day or night time. I only notice this on cars with the red blinkers. I'll only see them when the car itself is moving into my lane. It doesn't matter if i'm driving my car or on the XS. Is it just me or does this happen to you guys too?

Yeah, get your eyes checked. I had a similar problem a few years ago and it turned out to be a type of cataract. This type comes on fairly fast, reduces contrast, and won't be noticable until you start having these types of problems.

My vision is fine. Just need -1.00's for driving. I get my eyes checked every year by the optomitrist in our store For sure i am not color blind, i see everything else that's red just fine, brake lights, street lights etc. Could it be that i am not adapting to red turn signals since i am so use to seeing the orange ones???1978 XS1100E Standard

The color really shouldn't matter if your vision is fine. the flashing should get your attention instantly, no matter what the color is. I've never heard of the cataract thing, but I would definitely suggest that you have your eyes checked for something like that.1980 XS850SG - Sold

Go to an Opthamologist (eye Dr.) rather than an Optometrist (vision specialist).

Seeing Red, or NOT!?
Hey folks,
An optometrist is fully trained to recognize the presence of cataracts and numerous other eye diseases, they just can't perform surgery. But that's not his problem.
I have noticed it on some of the new LED model vechicles, that when they are in the next lane, it looks like their brakelights are out on the side closest to me, until they change lanes in front of me, and then I can see their limited directional LED ARRAYs in their tail light assemblies, and realise that it was these poor narrow beam LED's that prevented me from being able to see the lights until they were almost directly in front of me!
SO..Korr, just another reason to be even more vigilant, and not ride in their blind spot, so that IF they suddenly change lanes, they won't run you over since you couldn't see their signals....IF they even give one before they swerve in front of you!!

I had issues when vehicles started coming out with the turn signals being red as well as the brakes. I guess my brain figured they were some idiot just tapping thier brakes for no apparent reason, until it clicked that it was only one side. Most of them are still idiots, though I do appreciate the ones that signal. Most don't know how to do that here, and if they do it is one blink when they are already in the lane.K. Johnson

Yes i can see how this would be an issue, I always thought it was illegal. i used to have a set of blue turning signals and got a hard time from the Police over it. They made me change them or a would get charged. not sure if its still illegal in some states, or provinces or if it has been revoked completely. or maybe the Police officer was board and wanted to give some young guys a hard time.hahahaMatt
