  • John and Kat's MOM

Sure was a pleasure meeting everybody. Wish I could have stayed longer. Had a good talk to John about making emblems complete. Hopefully before winter I can make some molds and start whipping some emblems/badges out.

Sorry about the bike, Trbig. Bet you are sore today. I put one down at about 110 and I hit and rolled but I spent plenty of time in the air just before that thinking about it. No, I didn't walk away. You had maybe 1/2 second before kissing the concrete. Nope, not enough time for anything.

Many thanks to John and Kat for opening there home, again. Just like any sucessful concert, there are many behind the scenes that make it work. There was lotsa bikes and work. John was busy from dawn to dusk, as was Kat. (I never did see her FJ go further than around the block) Tod will soon have thread up on how to remove asphalt from flesh.

Maybe that should be added to the tech tips.

The main point of this being... it went around the block... and it doesn't have any leaks... and once I get new rubber on it... all you'll see is dust...

                  Things I learned

                  1. John is Yoda....trust me on this.
                  2. Do not match beers with Keoki.
                  3. Kat prefers black.
                  4. Bob is not human, he is a riding machine.
                  5. Bigfoot's nipples get hard when he pours cold water down his back at mile marker 185 in OK.
                  6. Swimming pools @ 3:00 pm on a Texas afternoon are a requirement, not a luxury.
                  7. Block parties should not include the local police.
                  8. Gravel is not your friend.
                  9. GTO's can make trbig have to cover his crotch.
                  10. Kirmit is like my little brother, there is something about him that makes you want to smack him on the back of his head.
                  11. Montreaux blue is silent until his evil twin's sense of humor surfaces.

                  Cya all next year.

                  In April please!!!!!

                    1. Appreciated greatly, are your words of thanks, new XSive.
                    2. Hell, I can't even match waters with anybody anymore, never mind beers.
                    3. Only when she has to wear clothes.
                    4. Bob...I don't want to insult the man, a great fella, but he's got to have a numb ass to rack up the miles like he does(Luv ya Bob)
                    5. No Comment
                    6. I wish
                    7. How true
                    8. Ditto
                    9. You didn't see me at the orange 40 Willys coupe, did you?
                    10. All that and you still want to see him do good.
                    11. Dr. Jeremy and Mr. Hyde

It sure was great of y'all to join us this year. I know I speak for Kat when I say this weekend was a wonderful time with friends, old and new. It's too bad we couldn't get done all of the work that was desired, but I hope what was done was a big help to those who needed it. Some of these jobs are two man jobs, and sometimes two men just aren't available.
rpgoerlich, you were da man Friday, helping with the valves and figuring out the problem with the clutch on dabubble's bike.
Kermit's boss, Bob, helluva nice guy, sorry about what we found with your carbs, and thanks to trainzz for hooking him up with another set....Kermit..good kid. I wanna see that bike when it is done.
Terri, I'm sorry we didn't have much of a chance to chat, but we'll make up for it next year.
Scott, and Larry. It was very nice meeting with and talking with you.
Hobbyman, you let me down, boy! You didn't eat all the food Kat prepared for you, and we had soooo much left over. You too Jeremy!
Keoki, glad you stayed for this one...sure beats riding up here from Austin, and turning right around and going back.
Big John. I hope you are successful in molding new emblems. That would be a huge service to the members.
Craig, thank you for all your help getting ready for this. The fan was a godsend.
It has been decided that next year's MoM will not be in June. We can do the weekend of April 16-18. May is too hectic for those who have kids getting out of school at the end of the month, and June is just too damn hot! So mark your calenders...
                    Hope to see y'all then!
I'll bet you thought I forgot to mention trbig. Nope, over the years he has become such a fixture around here that it almost seems strange when he isn't here. He was scurrying around, lending a hand and some brain, and smartass comments to anyone that may have needed it.

It wasn't the water causing that Big Boy

I know I have said it before and will repeat myself

Many thanks to John and Kat for putting on this event. John busted his azz for two hot and long days helping wrench on other peoples bikes. Kat was an awesome hostess.
I did get alot done on my bike and it is running great. Some guys were there to visit, I took advantage of all of the xsive wisdom there. Everyone's help was greatly appreciated. I am all for doing it in April next year.

                          - small, green and furry? Not that I've seen... this bares further investigation

                          2. Do not match beers with Keoki.
                          - lighter them instead?

                          3. Kat prefers black.

                          I prefer black... what? hmmmmmmmmm?

They usually don't... I just figured it was when they found out you were coming down... or Harry... I guess his reputation preceeded him (just what was in that phone you let go surfing down the highway Harry?)

                          8. Gravel is not your friend.

But it'll stick with you... and in you... and it sounds like fingernails on a chalkboard when a knife tip is scraping against it...

Thanks John and Kat for a great time!
I'm glad I took the time to ride up even if it was just for the day, as I enjoyed meeting everyone. Thoroughly enjoyed even if only helping with what little maintenance we did. I only wish I would have had more time to stick around for the car show and the ride. Made for a long day leaving here at 6:30a and getting back 3:30a the next day but it was worth it!

So Bigfoot, How'd it ride with the 750 FD ?

Just got back from a couple days of offshore fishing with my son and is buds. Wind finally layed down. We made our way out 50 miles and caught a bunch of nice sized Snapper(Red and Grey) and Ling. My freezer is full again!
