  • Fell off for the first time tiday

Dropped my xs11 for the first time in 3 years riding today. First day of a job, went riding with 3 coworkers in the morning, and had just pulled over after one guy almost wiped out in front of me on a huge patch of gravel. We had literally just started back up (probably 10-15 mph) and I let the rear end skid out from under me on an almost identical patch of gravel. Totally stupid, should have seen it coming. Anyways I got away with a scrape on my a** that looks worse than it feels and terribly bruised ego. My left handlebar was bent in so far that it hit the tank, and the clutch lever and left foot peg broke off. We managed to bend the handlebar back into place, zip-tie the fragment of a clutch lever good enough for it to still function (poorly), and I rode it about 30 miles back to the office. All in all it went very well... Anyone got a clutch lever and foot peg lying around?

    Ride safe,

OUCH!!!That would have bruised my ego as well.I did a similar one except I slid down into ditch and somehow stayed vertical.Nothing but a lot of dust and a broken ego,had to stop down the road and sit for about a 1/2 hour till I stopped shaking. We all make mistakes even Tiger Woods misses a short putt now and then.Don't be to hard on yourself.Glad you're ok.Terry

      Hi Marshall,
bars can be got anywhere, look at it as an opportunity to get bars of a shape you really like.
If it's just the clutch lever, get a replacement at the Yamastore. If the whole thing is fubar MikesXS catalogs one that'll do except it don't have the 4-way switch.
But the footpeg could be hard to find. I have a set off my XS11SG, the chrome is good and they ain't bent but the unfindable wide rubbers are in sad shape.
Yours for postage, PM me your postal address.
