75,000 miles and still goin strong.
I just figure its yet another excuse (as if I needed one) to ride! Wherever I need to go, as long as I don't have to take someone with me, I ride anyway.

The motor vehicle action sequences depicted in this film are dangerous. All stunts were performed in controlled environments with professionally trained stunt crews on closed roads. No attempts should be made to duplicate any action, driving or car play scenes herein portrayed.
I just posted a thread "did you forget" about the ride to work day, but I should have looked a little closer to the threads here first. It's an AMA thing I think, but I don't think there are many members here.

I had no idea until I got to work and picked up a paper!
The wife and I carpool downtown for work and she needed the truck to carry something today, but had I known before I left the house I would have made her drive herself to work so that I could participate.
I did a little checking and it appears Cincinnati is only one of the two most recent cities to adopt RTW day. Just as well, I guess, the city has only just this spring set aside (get this) 15 designated motorcycle parking spaces downtown. That's right, 15. If I tried hard enough I could fill all of their "designated" spaces with XS1100's from the area!
I don't think AMA has anything to do with RTW day. Nor is it a thing that is usually observed or advertised by municipailities. It looks like just a cultural (motorcyclist) phenomenon, and something that this non-profit organisation has set up. Kind of a cool idea IMO, and they seem to have put a bit of thought into when the day is set. The timing works for just about everyone worldwide, as most of both halves of the world are rideable at this point in the year.

Since being laid-off, I deliver pizzas, so I'm gonna have to take a pass on ride to work day. Maybe after I land that CEO position with Microsoft..... yay
I have been a pizza driver in the past. Having a bike then would have been awesome! Great mileage and superior maneuverability, but then again, I guess the weather would be a major factor.
I usually ride to work every day that I can. When my knees aren't bothering me too badly. But it's a strange thing around here. The only time I see the harleys out is on the weekends and ONLY if it's sunny!

It's funny - I see ads selling bikes on CL here, and many of them say things like "garage kept, never seen rain". That's sad to me. They must never ride the thing!

I prefer not to ride in the rain at this point in time as I don't have any rain gear. As soon as I get some, it will basicly be a as long as there isn't ice.
I have been caught in the rain though. Gotta love living in an area where you would have the heat on full blast and have to scrape ice off the windows for the morning drive only to need the AC on full blast for the commute home.
