      Thanks again Jim and Lori.

Thanks again for the exhaust valve too Rick, I had it fired up this afternoon.

I figured you might put a day in on the bike Paul. So she's already running eh. That's great news. I took a break today and did all my yard jobs so other then mowing grass I can do as I see fit.

I talked jr into cutting the grass plus I was able to get my yard work done Saturday morning. Yesterday was all mine so I spent most of it in the garage. I wasn't expecting to get it back together and running but it all came together and a 4:30 I hit the starter button! Unfortunately it was raining hard at that time so no road test.

Don't forget to re-torque the head after bringing it to full temp and then letting her fully cool off fully followed by a check and troque if / as necessary at 500 KM while cold.
Is she still smoking or give up the habit?

Gonna retorque the head tonite. She was smoking like a steam train when I started it, all that assembly lube i guess. Then out came the black smoke which actually turned out to be carbon buildup in the exhaust. It's pretty much gone now. Can't wait to get out on the road with her!

Hey Paul, I would expect it to smoke on first few runs after the rebuild. The added compression likely cleaned out your pipes.
