  • Congratulations to my favorite Guru of Gurus!

    John made his 5,000th post!
(if you get a dozen virgins when you get to be a Guru... does this mean we're stuck with 60 that don't know what they're doing now? at least the beer's free... yes?)

I count myself very lucky to have such an incredible fountain of knowledge available not only with the XS but with so many other topics...
(even if living with someone who knows SOOO much gets a little frustrating at times)

Congratulations and thank you for sharing so much with so many for so long here at XS11!

                5000 posts...wow

Man 5000 posts, I think what I'm saying now will be number 2, it's nice to find a place where people are that active and engaged with each other. I hope my stay here is long and I have a feeling it will be pleasant.

Same here! This whole place is good about that, but John's knowledge has probably saved many people from really running the wrong direction (or on a wild goose-chase).

At one point, John (And Kat) didn't know me from Adam, yet they agreed to let me come use their home, tools, time, and knowledge and helped me rebuild my engine the first time (And several subsequent times). There's no way I would have even started to attempt it alone. I tried it and got a head full of bent valves the first time.

I'm not sure he would have if he'd known I'd keep popping back up at their place like a bad case of Herpes, but his help and knowledge have always seemed to be handed out gladly and willingly.

Thank you, John, and congratulations. Pretty awesome considering you really don't even post that much any more. You just sit back and supervise.. and correct the rookies trying to correct other rookies at times before they hurt themselves.. lol.
