    Hi list,
it's not only fingernail painting ladies in cars that drive like they're brain-dead.
I was slowing the family Buick and indicating right to turn into my offramp lane
when he showed in my mirror. Head down, arse up, on a sportbike. Getting bigger and bigger as I slowed the Buick to make the curve. Just as I was waiting to feel him hit my rear bumper, one flash of his left indicator and he's at my elbow. One flash of his right indicator and he cuts in front of the Buick and leans into the sharp downhill rightie off-ramp with sparks coming off his bike's low points. Did he realize how much his life depended on my being aware of him? I doubt it. I was thinking " I have had a bike licence for 50 years but this lad ain't gonna make it."

You know Fred, I had a similar expereience with a 50 something guy on a hardley some years ago. It was a vintage of some year and I was sitting at a light, he was behind the car next to me. Light turns green and the car next to me (we were first at the light) pulled ahead just a bit and as I'm hitting the gas and ready to shift for second dude leans it over barely sqeaking between our cars. I had to delay the shift and keep the clutch in or I would have ran over him and crushed him between the cars.

Intersting and kinda fun thing though. I was going to my parents house, wound up he was going to their neighbors house. Only he was there to harass the 70 yr old lady into selling him her sons HD. So between the two things, well, to kind of quote Tod's line, he and I had words, only I did not use mine.

Tod, somehow I knew you would be more envious than upset.
