Thinking of downsizing... Questions

I have a 79 xs1100, I am thinking of dropping to the 650. The custom bug has got me. i want to chop the fram build the engine everything. Any comments on this idea? What do you guys think of the xs650? I know its popular but I know nothing else about it except there are tons of parts out there for it.

This is my bike, I just got done tearing it down to the frame and painting everyhting. I only rattle canned it but its a huge impovement. I have trouble leaving well enough alone...

I would keep the 11 and get a 650 to chop, it's true there are a lot of them out there and a lot of part for them. That said (plus the fact that I want to add a 650 to my stable) I would not get rid of the 1100 to do it.
