I am going to the AMA race at the new Barber Motorsports park in September. It is ten hours away and I was thinking of trailering the bike. Thinking if it is worth it or not.
(Iron butt notice - don't even think about telling me to ride)

Are there good riding roads in the Birmingham, AL area?
    Any other bike related attractions?

    Thanks,

To me the best part of a race weekend is the M/C ride to and from. The race is just an excuse to roll the bike out and ride. If you trailer the bike and only put put around in all the congestion and traffic around the race track you are not doing your bike any favours Plus the accident exposer you are subjecting the bike to trailering it.
Ride the bike man. Leave early with lots of time to explore and check out alternate routes etc. You don't have to do the whole 10 hours in one stint. Explore a bit and enjoy your ride, don't turn it into a torture test.

Ride it and camp at 29Dreams.
Very nice twisty roads outside the Birmingham metro.
