As you can see from my signature, I owned a few 750s in the past. And the XS11 rocks! These bikes do have incredible power. Truly, they do weigh ALOT also. This equals a bike that will go very fast very quick and with not much throttle and not really feel that fast either. It also will not turn nearly as nimbly as some smaller bikes, or slow down as easily. So you REALLY have to watch it or you will easily find your self going into a corner way to hot.I know I have had a couple turns that went high on the pucker factor.
I do recommend the MSF course. I finished one a month or so before I bought my 11. Unfortunately, there is such a huge demand for the basic course locally, they are no longer offering the experienced rider course where you can do the riding on your own machine. Luckily my course was a couple miles or so from my house so I have gone to their lot which is marked with the cone locations and such and used it as a practice ground. The 11 is an entirely different animal from the Nigthawk 250 I used for the course.SO yeah, be careful and really respect the power of this bike!
And again.....I hate you for getting that bike free!!That is a once in a lifetime deal for sure.

You are a lucky man, so you already have the side covers and clutch cover. You will have that thing running in no time. CongratsLeave a comment:

I can't get over the lucky find you ran into. Say....while you're hot, care to suggest some numbers for us to use on the Powerball lottery?

Well, the bike is in a HECK of a lot better shape than your truck! I say dump the truck (hey, GIVE it away!) and concentrate on the bike. It will be a lot more fun and it'll be done a LOT sooner.

WOW!! Simply amazing!! That is a beautiful bike! Like Craz said, you're only missing a few parts (need a right side mirror too), and they should all be available after a quick look around on this forum or on e-bay. Get a set of tires, flush the brake system, clean the carbs, and change the oils. You'll be riding that thing in a week or two! If you don't already have one, the manual is available from the link in my signature.
Man.... Even the headers are shiny!!Leave a comment:

The really unbelievable thing may be if he has those parts! I went back and re-read his post and it says the PO had the missing parts in a box!
Sweet Special, Chevy...Extremely nice find!
And yes, by all means, if this is your first, please take the safety course!
When you get 'er goin, you'll soon find out these are big bikes, both in power and weight! They can get away from you if you're not used to them.
And I hear ya Kat...(I mean Murph), we are definitely livin' in the wrong area! Can't hardly find any of these things around here in the first place, and in the second, the PO's are too "educated" when it comes to price...
Best of luck to ya, Chevy. Ride Safe.

Hi Tony,
I am sending this in green because I am seething with envy. I paid a grand for mine in far worse shape.
Cleaning the carbs is easy, getting them free of the airbox is a right swine. Remove the bottom half with the two wing bolts. Just 3 screws retain the top half. Do NOT dismantle the top half, it's eff nigh impossible to put back together.
And please take a rider's course.Leave a comment:

I am not sure if I want to congratulate you or cry. I must live in the same area as Kat cause they do NOT give ANYTHING away here. Even that horse stuff would fetch a price around here.Leave a comment:
