lol.. She may already like to ride.. but he'll need a different seat.

I'm wondering how you get a final drive and shaft housing chromed?? Unless it's just shiny. Maybe powder coat?

Very nice, very well did up custom job. Somebody took their time to do a really good job. A one of a kind custom job like that.........you're gonna regret it when it's gone.

Had the same thought as Tod, maybe she already likes to ride, and if he can't get a blond hitch hiker on, he might have trouble with space for the GF.

            Ok...not going there.

              Todd,
I've got whats left of chrome plated covers on my '78 project. They look great at first, but when you get the oxidation started on the aluminum, the chrome just peels off. The swing arm would be an easy job as far as chrome, and should last a LONG time.
              Darrel,
As far as the girlfriend, dump HER, NOT the bike! My girlfriend MADE ME get a replacement bike when my old daily ride locked up on me. After a month, she said she couldn't live with me, and go get the other bike I was looking at! THIS is the type of girlfriend you need, not one who wants to control your life!
Just my humble opinion, and worth every penny you paid for it!
That IS a really nice custom!!

This is where you have to broaden things a bit... get another bike that has room for the g/f...
So now he needs two bikes (at least)... One for when he's alone ("but Honey... it only has room for one.. I can't pick anyone up") and one with room for a passenger that he can take his g/f on...

darrelldaltonga... you're going to have to get back into this post...

Ohhh....You know, I was gonna broaden my thinking, but thats usually what gets me into trouble. Besides, I've never been any good at thinking like a broad. Most of my former GFs and SWMBO would undeniably agree with that I am sure!

Okay... but you still haven't answered the question...
Does she not want you to ride at all? or just doesn't want you to have THIS bike?

If that's the case... tell her I'll be glad to take it off your hands and I won't even charge you a disposal fee...

If she does get an account... just have her keep in mind that we are an XSive family and there are few sympathetic to the cause of those who are not XSive...

                        That's OK,
I've been on this earth a long time. I've had a LOT of people mad at me, and I'm still here! IF she LIKES motorcycles, she may understand what we are saying. She may want to get her OWN bike, if you keep the one without a pillion... If she isn't really big on them, she will probably go away mad. Of course, she MAY give me a bit of her mind before she does anything, but I have a few miles between us, and KAT to come to my aid( I hope!)

                          Hi Darrell,
many an otherwise perfect woman hates to ride pillion.
I know that because I married one. Well, not quite perfect, she lacks the gift of stillness.
Whatever, she said if she wanted to sit like that she'd go see her gynecologist.
This led to me going for rides and to rallies on my lonesome and I'm a togetherness kinda guy.
What changed all that for me was a sidecar. Besides carrying all the kit you'd ever need a sidecar is a great chick magnet.
And my beloved rides along in it whenever we go on rides or to rallies, happily listening to Elvis on her discman.
The best of all possible worlds is available to you too, for about a grand for an old but restoreable sidecar and a bit of work.
