  • Guess they still ARE worth something...

I've been watching a '78E for sale on Ebay. It just went off today, and it brought almost $4K! Of course, this was a low-miles (>11K), near-mint original, but still a far cry from the generally $1500 or less these usually bring. Some of you guys might give some thought about hacking 'em up.... LOL! Just kidding....

Oh yeah; this was item number 260401059116 if you want to see what a high-dollar XS11 looks like.

I picked up a 78 1100E here in my hometown for $900 with 14K on it a couple weeks ago. Although it is nowhere mint condition, mechanically it is in very good condition. I'm really impressed with the power and handling. NOTHING like the XJ I got rid of last fall with the same milage and in a lot better shape. With the XS, I'll be up to 70mph and not even realize it. It's like riding on air. This one has seriously got my attention. I'm going to hold on to it for awhile.

Dunno about $4K US, but i'd happily pay $4k NZ for it. Heres what 4.5k gets you in this part of the world and it's not even original. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Mo...-214188847.htm

          Odd duck

The bike looks to be in nice shape, but it almost appears to be a hermophadite. It has most of the makings of a Standard sold in the states, but possibly the seat and definitly the tank are from a Special. Is that the case, or were they sold in that configuration there in NZ?

No, not sold like that here. Definately a mixture.
