I have been trying to find a pair of sunglasses that will work when I have my helmet on ? I have a few different pairs , wraps that have too much side and obstruct my vision , and some some smaller ones that will ride off my nose so I end up looking through the bottom of the frame, both are polarized and make wearing my full face helmet kind of trippy looking through the clear plastic face shield!!

I ride a full face helmet with a tinted visor works great,
no need for sunglasses, I have a clear visor for nite time use.
I use to ride with sunglasses on and the visor up,but the tinted visor works well.pete

I wear prescription glasses with photogray, most of the time.
I do have a set of sunglasses, for when I wear contacts, that have interchangable lenses. There are clear, grey, and yellow lenses.
Clear for rain, grey for sun and yellow for night.Nice day, if it doesn't rain...

I'm sure my choices are easier because I don't have to wear prescription glasses. I use to spend up to $200 a pair for the quality sun glasses that wrapped partially around the side of my eyes and always got the polarized because it helped to see the reefline when running boats in the Florida Keys.
Recently, I got tired of them breaking, scratching or getting misplaced. I figured, "To heck with spending that much." So in the past year, I've just bought the $18 pairs I'd see in a drug store. They work just as good for me, are just as comfortable, and if they break or get lost, big deal, I'm out $18.
I will add that I just picked up a pair at the Yamaha dealer. They have a bit of a goggle rubber edge to block out wind, and they are light adjusting so I can wear them at night as well. PE Performance Eyewear and they cost $49.95. Hopefully they will work out OK both day and night.

Polarized Oakley "Whiskers". I got them from an Oakley sales rep. for doing a little computer work for him. It pays to work at an optometrists office. :-)If you don't own a fire extinguisher, do me a personal favor and go purchase one... immediately.

Polarized Serengeti's. Wrap around light brown/yellow lens. Very good scratch resistance. No peripheral vision problems and stay put with full face or half helmet. Had them 5 years now. Very pricey so I keep track of them. They can be used at nite in street light conditions but too dark for nite back roads.I May Be Crazy, But I Have A Good Time.

Perscription single vision rayban clones. Darkest tint possible. Tried wrap arounds before but the distortion was to much for my brain to handle.

It isn't a good idea to wear polerized glasses while riding, they are made to reduce glare and could cause you to miss spotting a patch of oil or water on the pavement.Fastmover

I've heard polarized lenses decrease depth perception. I'm not sure it's true, but I've avoided them for years.
I recently started wearing Rx glasses due to my advancing age. I've been wearing WILEY X glasses both as goggles with open helmet and as sunglasses under my full helmet. I may look into Rx lenses for those.Marty (in Mississippi)

Garth - Take a look at SportRx. I used to get all my skydiving eye-wear there, and they've got some great stuff. I've hit 200mph standing on my head, and the strapped goggles (G103's) never budged. They're sealed with foam around the edges and have vents that prevent fogging - unless you're stopped at a light and the atmospheric conditions are right. The other thing that's nice about the goggles is that you can turn look back and check a lane before changing and not wind up with your glasses on the pavement behind you. Everything they have is available in prescription or non. I only wear goggles when I'm riding without a brain-bucket. I second the Tinted visor on the full-face. I tossed around the idea of the clear shield and the pop-down internal shades that come in some of the modular helmets, but that was over my price range. I wear $20 sunglasses from Target when I drive the cage, but for the bike, I stick to the tinted shield. I can switch to the clear one at night, but I don't do much night riding yet, so I haven't had to worry about that. Of course, I don't have to deal with Rx glasses either... Yet.1980 XS850SG - Sold

I bit the bullet
and went to the sunglass shop this morning and found a set that will work for me (smith super methods) fit good under the helmet, dont ride up and uv protected not polarized, rode home withthem on and no blocked vision and not pressed right up against my face. It looks like I have found a solution for now.
on the subject of tinted windscreen my helmet is kind a PITA to change screen because of a side plate that locks on the screen itself, I have an icon domain 291 kwaka kz1000p

I've been using $20 "polarized"(green) aviators bent to stay close to the skull w/ a couple of pieces of black tape to keep air from flowing in between when bombing around town with the 1/2 cut. I'm waiting till funds are available to invest in a photochromic ("transitions") visor for my full face for the highway rides.
