The pic for your profile is done right on this site. Just make sure it's small enough, it is limited in size (I wish it was a bit bigger, but then that's just me, you lose a lot of detail crunching them down that much)

Dude, I think the issue is storage. The file size of pictures would require a huge amount of storage that the site owners and moderators/admins do not need to pay for when there are all of these free hosting sites.

Soo....Unless you got the donaroes to pony up for the storage, I think we just gonna stay lame and keep the site open a bit longer. It DOES cost money to run the site! And a VERY awesome site and resource for free to you and me!! Donations are ALWAYS welcome I am sure!

I find it very easy to upload my pictures to Photobucket and link them to the fora. A couple of bookmarks, copy+paste and you're done.
I know this, because Tyler knows this.

Also, by having my photos on a specialized photo hosting site, I can link them, export them anywhere.

But the point is that for your profile picture you can indeed upload a picture directly to the site, which AFAICT is what the OP was complaining about.

Very true. And it's even easier than posting other pics.

Eh, isn't the basic premise of the internet a time sink? Not only that, but the time taken to post your astoundingly profound post must have taken longer to type than finding a pic on google images. What with the spell checking and all you had to do.

Yes...... well........ I think I know what the waste of time was..... If you're having trouble dude, the right way to resolve would be to ask questions, would it not??

                        A word to his defense!

                        Hey folks,

He wrote to me also using the CONTACT US feature. I explained to him about the bandwidth issue and such. BUT, it also reminded me to perform an administrative function that I had not done for a few weeks.

Due to the Open Source GNU type program we are using for running the back side of the site...not the actual Forums Vbulletin, the folks that wrote the code haven't written a script to AUTOMATICALLY synch/bridge the Forums/Joomla to the Photo Gallery section. SO...when newbies are fully registered, they CAN'T create a photo album YET.

I have NOW done the synchronization/bridge for the latest newbies, and so they ALL can now create Profile photo albums and add photos to them!

So...I can see where he could have gotten frustrated in being a REGISTERED member/user, but getting an error when trying to create his photo album.

Perhaps I need to add that to the Problems with Registering thread??
