I was trying to post an upcoming event on the calendar, but everytime I try to add a single event I get a nag-screen that tells me I don't have sufficient rights. Anybody know if this is something only the moderators can do?

It's always the details that are my undoing. We're finalizing the plan now. It's looking like 10:00-11:00 for the starting time.
