Too bad that guy's not parting it out - wouldn't mind having the rack off the back. Looks like a good project or parts bike.
I think I have a loose screw behind the handlebars.

"Too bad that guy's not parting it out"

What? There are plenty that get parted out. More like, thank god another one isn't getting parted out.

I saw this one on eBay that is within a few hours drive from me. The guy said he was hoping to get around $600 for it.

Hmm here we go again...this looks to be a XS 650?750 or 850 just from looking at the engine....seems alot of people dont really know what they have but sell it as an 1100...this is the 3rd time in a year I have seen this happen.

The coloring on the side covers makes it kind of look like an 850... but the actual shape of the covers and the rest of the motor looks like an 11 to me. And what's the deal with the exhaust just hanging there? I bet lots of rust in the cylinders.

IT looks like an 1100 to me, I can count four spark plugs and the last I knew a 750 or 850 were three cylinder beast.

Did not sell anyway, did not even fetch $300.

He thinks it's a Midnight? and he wants $1600 for a bike that still needs work?

Yeah Kat, only thing Midnight about that one is the birthdate (as in Midnight last night) of the person he wants to buy it! Got one here locally that I even wrote to to tell the guy he is wrong and it is standard with a special headlight, he still list it as a midnight.

That second one Jeremy listed looks like it might be a 750 though, the head does not look wide enough for an 11 in that pic to me.

I can't really tell from the pic... I can't even see the number of carb bodies... but I'm not looking too hard for another project bike anyway...
Now if I could get a deal on one like Tarzan did... that would be another story... Why doesn't anything like that ever turn up CLOSE to us??
Although, since we already have one bike sitting outside... maybe we don't really need another one?

Yeah, I know what you mean on both accounts! I already can't get things in the garage that should be. But I would love to find a deal like that for sure. And if that second one is an 1100, THAT would make a great bike to customize a bit. Not like you'd feel bad about messing up a really nice one!
