  • Great day for a ride

So some friends of mine and I decided yeasterday to go out for a ride it was so niced out had to. So we left my place went on tour ending up in Ottawa going to see a friend in the Hospital. Well we decided to go to the Lone Star for a early dinner dam good place to eat. We left there headed back home i take my place always at the back of the pack and decided that i should stop for a read light that the rest went through but the )(*(*%^*&%$&##@!$@#!@^$#&%*%^((^O&&_)&_ NEW CANADIAN behind me didnt think i should so all i heard was a squeeling tires and a bump into the back of me not very hard but enough to dump me off the XJ and put me on my ass on the ground. So after i make sure i am ok i go to stand up and there in this NEW CANADIAN standing over me not asking if i am allright saying i was a )*(^(*^$#% for stopping for the RED light and further more as i stied to get on my feet he thought it would be a good idea to give me a little shuv. So i dont have a great back to begin with so it is realy not in great shape after bouncing onto the ground then this ass shuving me kinda brought the ******* out in me this time when i got to my knees i took my helmet off and broke his nose with it then after he fell on the ground i got to my feet and the others that seen what happend came over to see if i was ok and called the police and thank god there where many that seen him shuv me back down cause the police said i would have been under aressed for the helmet to the face action. LOL when i was checked on the seen by the parametics the police officer laughed and asked why i didnt hit him harder LMAO. Anyways the XJ has a scrape on the bars and the guard not realy much done to it prety much just fell over i am going to be down for a while back i completly out of service.

Am going in for a scan on monday to make sure nothing has been moved out of place.

P.S. no scrapes cause of a good leather jacket and gloves and my trusty levi's.

Damn, I wouldn't have showed that much self restraint. I hope you got his details so you can sue the pants off of him. It would appear that he might have been a little drunk and threatened you with lethal force and the act of self defence has given you mental scars that are not going to heal.

A lawyer friend of mine said that the money phrase is to say "I can't get an erection anymore." then have your wife burst out into tears. Not sure if this would work in Canada, but you could at least get a life time supply of Viagra.

Seriously, with my anger problems and the obvious lack of respect by the other party, I would have seen jail time in that situation. Much respect to you.

        Whoa

That is so completely NOT cool... I can't believe someone would hit you and then blame YOU for doing the right thing... wait... yes I can... unfortunately...

Just reread and realize that your back is out... wow... best wishes for a quick recovery...

Sorry to hear about your back, mine's been toast since 1994. Bless his heart, I got rear-ended at a stoplight by an Irishman, on St. Patrick's Day.

            Good For You!!!

Talk about a tough week, buddy. Glad to hear your okay Jim. Even glader to hear the newcomer has a broken nose for his trouble. Be sure to wash your helmet with disinfectant, you never know. Good luck with the check up and get some rest.
Anybody wondering "New Canadians" are recent immigrants generally from east asia. Many have suspect driving skills and have a tendancy towards thinking nothing is ever their fault or responsibility.
Considering the situation , Jim has shown remarkable restraint.

Lucky for that guy that you didn't have time to think about it or my guess is he would have spent the next 8 hrs having your helmet removed from his colon.

Glad to hear you're OK and he better not have scratched those emblems I sent ya.

                Hi Doug,
a "New Canadian" is someone who got his landed immigrant status (what we have instead of a green card) after you did. It is no longer considered PC to call them DPs.
                As in :-
"Hi Boris, how you like it in new country?"
"Is OK except I have been here only two weeks and already some DP steals my job."
BTW, Jim's New Canadian must have learned to drive in Saskatoon. Here a red light means "only six more cars."

Down here, we're not quite so PC and just call them f****** asian's. Good to hear your okay, other than a bad back which I can relate too, and not that I condone violence at all but "WAY TO GO" with the helmet to nose collision.

Sounds to me like the dude had a huge pair to pull that stunt after hitting you. If it had been me, I would planted my helmet or at least my fist square in them while I was down there, followed with the helmet to the face.

Say, does that count for the helmets one impact its rated for?

Glad you and the bike did suffer any worse, hope your back is not to bad and heals quickly!!

lol - I always assumed the head had to be on the inside when the impact occurred, but you never know...

All of the sudden this makes so much more sense after you guys defined New Canadian. A lot of container truck drivers would qualify under that definition (the Yang Ming Company jumps to mind). I think the eastern mindset (and exposure to eastern traffic) along with an inability to read the street signs is a bad combination. I saw one run over (and I do mean run over) a Ford Mustang just outside of Chicago several years ago. He was probably complaining to the police that the dead guy was making him late for his delivery.

Speaking of Chicago, why is it everything we buy to day is made in China, but fortune cookies are made in Chicago? (Stephen Wright didn't say that - but he should have )

Because foutune cookies are purely American. They don't have them in China. They were invented by some restaurant owner in San Francisco, IIRC.

They're also easier to get in the bag with the food than five copies of the I Ching . I didn't know they were an american invention. You learn something new everyday.

                            Jim,
I hope the back is going to be OK. You showed GREAT RESTRAINT in that the "New Canadian" only had a broken nose. If that would have happened to me, I think training and adrenaline would have taken over, and he would be in a meat wagon. Even after 30+ years, US Army training still takes over from time to time.
