One more thing...

Forgot to mention one other thing I like about the Plexstar: you can see through it! I don't care for the Vetter type fairings because you can't see the front wheel when navigating at slow speeds.
But, like they say, "different strokes for different folks," and "that's why they make chocolate and vanilla."

The Safety Issue with Plexifairing on my XS that caused me to crash at speed was I think the size of it. Smaller or sport fairings are not a danger issue.

Steering dampers will help.

The new Plexifairing may be smaller or have more rake to it. Mine old one was properly mounted and went from the middle of my grips to the middle of my forehead and gave great protection at low cost.

NO WINDSHIELD WILL "CAUSE" A CRASH.
That said, they WILL amplify ANY handling problems the bike may have. My '79 has something wrong in the front end, I know this. If I take both hands off the bars, it will go into a "tank slap" at almost any speed. This has NOTHING to do with the fairing. I WILL be going into the front end in about a month, and I'll fix the problem then.
