    Hello Fellow XSives!

Does there exist a list of e-bay names of our fellow XSixes? I want to bid on some parts for "Scorpion," my '80 XS11SG, but don't want to step on anybody who "needs" the parts I just want.

    Thanks,

    e-bay name is "Skippy344"

Good point Greg. With so many of us looking for parts, it could be an issue. Tough to think you might be bidding against a fellow lister.

Can't think of how to manage or coordinate that, though.

      e-bay bidders

Maybe the Webmasters of this site can put up a sub page with our e-bay names and e-mail addys, so we can contact eachother in the event a e-bay bidding war ensues.

I don't wanna take away a part that someone needs, when i just want to replace with better.

      Just a thought.

We had a thread on this a while back....some people feel badly about out bidding somebody and others do not. It was kind of decided that, as with all auctions, high bidder wins. No hard feelings, just the person who bids highest wins. If the person real 'needs' something than they should bid accordingly. I NEVER feel bad if somebody out bids me on something I need, because I bid a high as I am willing to go. I may be disappointed but, I never get mad about somebody out bidding me.

Also just as many people here SELL stuff on eBay, what you are proposing would not be fair to members who are sellers and are just trying to make a fair buck on something AND help out guys on the list by making the stuff available.

Also having an arrangement of not out bidding somebody only works if everybody plays...EVERYBODY. One person who does not know or gets in to bidding late (with out checking the list) will create bad feelings.

The only fair way, for buyers and sellers, is for everybody to play by the rules and bid up to what they feel it's worth. That's my own personal opinion. I have bid against people that I know are on this list. Just like if the house down the street has an auction all your friends and neighbors show up, are you going to try and detrermine thier level of need or want and then not bid cause you know them?

Yup, well said. I was thinking along those lines but could not come up with the words.

Turbodave_98, real name Dave. I have a 1980 XS1100 G standard model. Buy frequently on Ebay for parts that I think will be hard to come by in the future.
This is a good idea. Maybe we owners with some stock can open a swap forum on this site., comments?

this IS a good idea... I don't even want to think about how many parts I've lost on that site...

...On the same note... I just recently bought a motherload of parts off of an ad in the local classifieds... and will be selling quite a bit of it on eBay here shortly... next week or so. I have all sorts of different years and different parts, including carbs (2 sets), tanks, harnessess, coils, middle gear, final drive (3), flashers... I have (nearly) a bike and half worth of parts... and I had originally considered building one this fall / winter... but did the math, and figured that I would wind up nickel-diming myself to death...

Anyway, my ebay handle is "sammydacook" ... if you mention to me that you are a member here on xs-11, I'll knock off 15% from whatever the final cost is...

...just keep your eyes open... I'll get them up on eBay eventually.

                  Take Care,

                  Sam

                      Re: e-bay bidders

mY eBay handle is technogearhead but I'm usually selling XS11 parts but sometimes I'm buying them. I have 3 XS11's I'm fixing up and 2 that I'm parting out. When I'm sure a part is extra and I won't need it, I put it up on eBay.
