  • 1978 XS1100 Standard

Well, I took the plunge. Got rid of the XJ1100 and the Venture and now I got this baby. I think it's gonna be fun!

    It's actually a 78 with a lot of potential.

He took care of the brakes and they are nice and tight now. No problems. Little bit of elbow grease and a good paint and it'll be sweet! He's also throwing in another tank with original paint and other original parts from the carbs and such, emblems, etc., in case I want to go back to fully original.

I had an 80 special back in 84 and it was nice. I went to look at this 78 on a whim and it was love at first site/ride. I think I'm going to like it even better than the 82 XJ I had. The XJ shifted like an old harley and this 78 shifts smooth as silk.

          Sounds like

a winner. And looks like one too!! I am glad a XS person got it, and not someone that will beat the crap out of it and then throw it in a recycle bin.

Nope, not this ol boy. I'm 50 now and have a lot of respect for these bikes. The XS's are like the holy grail of motorcycles to me. Like a good shoe, they fit. I sure am glad for this website. It's the best thing since sliced bread and the XS11's are too. Thanks!
