            Intervention

Okay boys, This could be serious. I've seen and lived through this before. What Jim has is a case of shiny-itis. It attacks those who have suffered a long winter of spending time, money and frustration on motocycles that have not had the chance to return the love yet. This disease is usually cured by a bad credit rating and threatened legal action by SWMBO.
I believe a tough love intervention is required. I'll start it out by having multiple credit inquiries on his credit score from Ferrari, Doug's Gun Emporium and Rent-A-Porn-Star Inc. That should take care of his credit rating.
Ben you get in touch with Lori and see what you can do there.
Anybody local should show up at jim's place with a hurt look on your face.

                  It WAS Ben's fault !!!!

Oh....X...J...R...1300. That's what I'm talkin' about. It absolutely looks like the child of XS1100. Future classic without a doubt. I wonder "how much is that motorbike in the window"
                  Schedule me in after Jim.

Nope can't buy one in the states. If you could I'd have one! Think someone on the forum checked with the local Yamarobber and they would not even entertain the idea of importing one for him. Maybe if I get transfered to Europe for a year I could bring one home. Of course if I did that I might as well stay over there as there would be nothing to come home to if you catch the drift.

                            Why?

I can see on a car where you have crash ratings and such that apply.. but is it just because they don't think there's a market for them here?

As for the Roadliner... What makes it so appealing to you that a Harley or a Shadow doesn't? They're all V-twins with no performance that won't turn and motors you'll have to rebuild after 50-60k miles. Is it just the bolt on shiney things?

Aw geez guys, give him a break!!! Whilst I prefer my cylinders to be all in row, its not a bad looking bike and not everyone wants there sleeve length altered with a mere twist of the wrist. My shiney-itis has been qwelled by monthly tuition payments. I have often been drawn by the thought of really good brakes, nice seat, long range and even no carbs. But then again, if everything worked all the time, what whould I do with my weekends. For now, and the foreseeable future, my trusty, paid for, and sometimes pain in the arse XS will will keep me happy.
