  • Aahh 75 at 75 feels soo good!!

    Sorry for you snowbirds....
Just got back from a 1+ hr. ride... It was 75 degrees out and my average speed was about 75 mph... in a sleveless t shirt and shorts. I had my riding boots and helmet though. What beautiful night in SE FL tonight. Stopped off for a brewski, some music, and nice conversation with the lovely ladies....
    Wish you were all here.
    Happy Easter everyone.

More riding than polishing, I'm afaraid.

                Thanks, for rubbing it in!!!!!!!!!!

Warm weather is coming, it's been pretty mild here for the last few days,
well, at least since waking up to 8 inches of snow early last week!

still have a few finishing touches on mine anyhow,
I just wish I'd been able to do the cosmetics over this past winter, as was the idea, just didn't happen

I snuck in a few miles yesterday.
                  Spent today with the family.
Tomorrows rain and 40, but the end of the week looks like 50-60.

                  It's ON!

Ahh but soon it will be 95 down there, then you may get in trouble! It will be 60 and sunny any day now in Pa, i'm standing at the door. I've been out a few times in our spring one day winter the next weather pattern. It was 65 and beautiful the one day and then the sun went down. I was 60 miles from home with no gloves or anything warm. That's when I get a speeding ticket. Just wanted to get home as fast as I could. 110 at 40 hurts.

Very true Garrett, TODAY we're supposed to be in record temps, hovering around the upper 80's at this time of the year!! With this global warming I'm not looking forward to this summer. Even with a full mesh jacket it feels too hot, that's why shorts and a t-shirt seem attractive. But you won't catch me riding in sandals like I've seen others.

                          Bike...

Bob - How's you bike coming along?

Because of the efforts of Trbig, Bohn Fraser, & Elevenator, it's all there and running sweet! Tranny's solid, no more engine leaks, carbs are synched and adjusted, 160 speedo works great, and those lowers are gonna be nice in cold weather, too! (As well as those unexpected rain storms on trips...)
Paint color on mine is a dark maroon anyway, so the black lowers work fine for now.
New brakes, new Dunlop Elite 3's, cleaned & polished, engine was painted black, then the fins were blocksanded... believe she's ready.
Amazed at how strong it runs... even though it's fully dressed, carrying tools, and me @ 180 lbs... it stays right with Elevenator's near-naked '78 XS11 standard! Lookin' good and runnin' like a new one. (Quick -where's some wood... before I go & jinx it... LOL)
I used to be a fleet mechanic for a local CATV CO. and still hold ASE certification. I'm also a licensed electrical Journeyman here in Ok. But getting to see the engine & tranny all apart on the XJ was great schooling for me.
I'm amazed at the wealth of knowledge so many folks here on the forum possess! I probably would have never bought a 27 year old bike if Elevenator hadn't shown me what a great "warranty" the bike came with... this forum!
Take care Cobia, and ride safe!
