I am looking for a new rear tire for my 78 xs1100e. The book says 4.50 which I have been told converts to a 120/90 tire. That is what is on my bike now. It just seems very small for the bike especially when I look at the tire on my dads 79 special. Has anyone tried a different tire size or know if its possible to go any bigger on the rear then the 120/90? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 130/90 on my 79f. I believe you can go with a 140/90 but if it has raised white letters the letters will rub the swing arm on the shaft drive side.
