      The best advice I ever got on interviewing from a pimp (recruiter) was "Nobody ever got turned down for a job for wearing a tie."

      Nice shirt/tie and pants. No jacket. Best to make a good impression lest they get the idea that your a less than reliable type.

        And I will guarantee this is not true. I certainly knock off a few points...

        It really depends on what the job is, and what your qualifications are. Often the forerunners in any given field are the goofiest looking, non-tie wearing misfits you will ever see.

        Hmmm, maybe that's why I've been self employed for the last 20 years...
