For your tank emblems, you can get new Yamaha emblems in silver for @ $6 a piece. If you're holding out for thr gold ones... for good ones, you're looking at probably 70-80 bucks.

For the silver ones, they made one for golf carts that is NEARLY the right size. You'll need to elongate one of the screw holes @ 1/32nd of an inch or so to make it fit. Just look around for part number JN6-F4161-01 if you're inrtersted. They come flat, but you can dip them in boiling water for a second, then bend them to shape to mold around the curve of your tank.

It's a cheap option until you get the gold ones anyway!.. lol

There is such a beast as a gold plating kit. I think Eastwood used to sell them. It has a brush and an electrical setup with a small jar of "Sauce" that is a form of gold salt or pepper or some stinkin thing. Anyway, it was really handy for touching up the emblems on caddies according to the guy that ran the body shop near the repair shop I worked in. I watched him use it and it would take a chrome plated plastic emblem on a geo metro and make it shine like new jewelry.

The kit cost an arm and a leg, but to do one or two emblems shouldn't be that bad, if you found someone who has the stuff. Might be able to beat the over priced option that way.

From reading up on it a bit, you have to paint the emblem first with some sort of paint that will carry a current.. the plastic won't. Then the gold is electroplated over the top of that. It only sticks to the part you had previously painted.

C'mon Ivan.. be a buddy and spring for the kit for us! lol.

WAIT!! Buy a rear tire first..
