I'm in the middle of bobbing out my XS11 can I put a link to my XS blog here, or is that violating the terms of use? I don't want to get busted for it.

      Xs 1100 web page

Well I hope that this works, I updated my web page in my user cp and added the link to my signature, so for all that want to see it here's a pictures of my XS project (just click on the link below). If you are not a fan of bobbers I would definitely not check it out, but if you are here's the progression of my 1979 XS 1100 Bobber. It is a budget bobber so please don't be too critical, However I am open to suggestions. Oh, and yes, it still has a very long way to go!
      Thanks

I am both a fan of bobbers and stock bikes. My biggest worry is that all the stock frames will get chopped and there won't be anything left but bobbers. However, nice looking bike.

That said, I could see doing a hardtail for myself, but I would like to do something that looked like a hardtail like Orange County Choppers does on many of their bikes.

          XS Bobber Page

I'm about to fab out a hard tail for my bobber, but I too think that under certain situations bikes should be kept stock. I think once I'm done with this project I might try tackling a XS1100 kept all stock, personally I think that is more difficult to keep it stock and should be respected, plus by the time I'm done I'll have enough left over parts to be well on my way ! But I do like a well done Old School bobber, and hope that I can get mine in that category soon. Thanks for the compliment, and thanks again for checking out my page!

            Hey Bishop,

I didn't know/realize that you were going to be doing that kind of stuff/fabricating? With regards to your driveshaft/swingarm tire clearance, I've seen where folks have hardtailed the rear, and so they have cut away the driveshaft swingarm casing exposing the driveshaft, it's just a dry chamber, with grease at the final drive junction, the rubber boot is just a dust cover, so you can get lots of clearance by modding the swingarm shaft housing, with the rear being supported by the hardtail/framing, you wouldn't need the full size/thickness of the driveshaft/swingarm housing. JAT!

Your frame is cut exactly where mine was chopped at. Mine is practically a rigid with these shocks on it.

Nice, I'm glad I'm not going into unchartered wateres, I will be loosing the shocks all together, and might regret that but I plan on chopping it just behind the tank and welding in a all new hard tail from there.

I checked out your link, very nice work. I love the bobbers. As long as you do a good job. Anybody can buy a bike, but can you make one and have it look good and work?
Your doing a fine job. The tires look nice. I would like to do a set of black mags with silver spokes and silver dots around the tire. I saw a street fighter like that and it was bad....

Thanks! That is one of my biggest fears in doing a Bobber. I've seen too many bikes get Bobbed and end up looking worse then when they started, and it doesn't take much to do that. I'm trying real hard to have it work out and look O.K. in the finished stage. For that reason I was a little hesitant to put my page on here but I know that Xs owners understand the hard work that can go into a project like this.
Thanks again for the support and compliment!

You guys with your spotless clean engines are killing me.

Ref: bobbers....I like them but keep my SG the way it is so I can have my girlfriend or my son ride along. My SH....man, that bobber look is tugging at me. Then again, if I loan the SH to my brother, he'll have no chance of bringing along any babes he might meet.

I haven't quite decided what direction I'm going to go with the passenger situation, I think I might do a suction seat on the hard tail fender, once I get my fender? Who knows though I'll change my mind at least 10 times before I cross that bridge.

I use a can of engine degreaser every time I wash it and only take pictures when it's clean! And that picture was taken the day after my 900 mile weekend in Kerrville, Texas! I think I have all the oil leaks worked out now.
