I have 400 miles on my new tires and i learned the other day that when they paint the lane markers in a turn , stay away from them and dont go too fast through that corner for a while. What ever the crystal type stuff it is that they use will let the tire slid out from under you. I felt the front tire start to slide out at about 30mph in a 180 degree turn and the right foot instantly hit the ground out of sheer reflex. The tire caught grip again so the bike and I didn't hit the ground but it was a little scary. Damn highway dept......

Change that to ANY painted road markings, not just the ones in the curves, as they are all rubberized paint for durability.
Glad to hear you caught it before it was too late... and I'm sure Fruit of the Loom is happy 'cause you probably had to throw that pair away.Brian

1979 I was hauling butt on my 10 speed (bicycle) at 1 am in Phoenix, AZ. I went around a corner of a major intersection and went right over the crosswalk line they were in the process of painting. I slid across 2 lanes and came to a stop in the turn lane (30 feet?), smearing bright yellow paint across the road and me. The guys painting the line were laughing too hard to get mad at me.Pat Kelly
