  • Great News in the Skippy344 House!

SWMBO and my youngest son (22) passed all their testing and now possess valid licenses to operate a motorcycle. (What the heck were the authorities in Texas thinking? JK...)

I got to watch them take the MSF beginner's course. I gotta say, that I am totally impressed with that course! They really do a great job teaching "newbs" about opeating a motorcycle.

Now SWMBO is "encouraging" me to get her Yamaha XJ650J Maxim finished, so she can ride! It is a really awesome problem to have, having my SWMBO "encourage" me to work on a bike!

    WOW - What a ride!

    Sounds great! Congratulations to them.

Now she can ride and XJ, and you can ride an XS to rallies again instead of the big green two wheeled barcalounger. Yeah yeah.. it's more comfortable and gets better gas mileage. Do you always just think about yourself and stupid things like YOUR comfort?

Also.. you guys have been ditching us since you got that Kawasaki. Get the XJ running and head north some this year. (Feel bad yet??)

Can that XJ650 keep up with a Busa on a trip?

wait, wait, wait... and just HOW long have y'all had this bike? and you didn't get it road worthy before she took the course? You are SO lucky she doesn't have you chained out in the garage until it's done...

MOM is coming up. Fix the XJ, transfer some of load from the Pack Mule to her bike and ride, the XS. If I have to, I can ride to your house first to make sure you are ready to go. I ain't doing the "day ride" thing again. Maybe we can get the guy with the sissy 'Busa to leave the honda at home and get up there on something with a kickstand.

My wife needs to go through a beginners course this spring in Minnesota. The snow is melting but I think that is still a month or two off!

Earliest classes available around here is late July. Those will fill up by May I am sure. They cancelled the experienced rider course this year to make room for more basic rider courses.
