The new XR hauls butt for a Sportster (especialy my big butt). I got to set up and ride the new XR when it came to our store= I loved it! I was ready to throw down my money on it as soon as I came back from the test ride, but the big boss man said since it's a new model it has to go to the floor for a while. It looks better in real life than it does in pictures. It handles way better than any XS11 or VMax that I've owned or ridden and it revs up to some pretty sweet power (very revy for a Sportster).
I took some pics when I got back from the ride:

I hate to say it but Crazy Steve is right, not enough people here will like this bike for it to remain here. Sad really, aside from the Vrod, it's probably one of the best bikes our American company will ever make.

..I think the new VMax looks like ass and who do you think will buy one for 18Gs? Talk about not worth it, when you could still buy any sportbike for less than 10Gs that will kick it's ass.
It's all subjective= to each there own, right?

You guys know the only reason you like this bike is because Harley stuffed a double thumper in an XS fram and this is what they came up with....

EVERYONE [but me] drives something with the bar and shield. Even the kid down the street has a HD branded bicycle. So maybe an XS doesn't handle like a late sporty, and maybe can't out run the new big ones. My XS is darn near 30 years old, and I put more miles on it since August when I got it than ANY sporty I have put eyes on total. They are probably out there, but I haven't seen it. I have a total of just under $1200 in it. I think it still beats that Harley in looks. Maybe a Crossbone has some looks, but the double thumper spoils it for me, oh and the fact that HD has their brand on everything, including banana hammocks (just guessing on that one...)

Fun per dollar, I think HD is a bit behind the XS. Except maybe on the banana hammocks.... but no one wants to see me in a man thong. Really.
