  • Hey all!

The Vetter Ebay site has a set of Vetter Hippo Hands up for bid starting at $11.99. I've had a pair and they are worth their weight in gold to a cold weather rider. Some of you far north riders might want to take a look.

Hippo Hands are one of the the greatest winter motorcycling accessories out there; right on par with the vetter fairing. With these two additions, the amount of clothing that one needs while riding is roughly comparable to what you would wear standing outside in the same temperature. No more getting all bundled up just to make a run to the grocery store. Basically, I just get on wearing what I would if I were waking to the store; add a helmet and you are good to go. If temps drop below 25* I put on a thin pair of leather gloves and that's about it. No more giant gauntlet ski gloves; no more army surplus extreme cold weather mittens; you can even still feel the controls. Actually, the only problem I find with the Hippo Hands is that if it gets much above 45* outside, my hands get all sweaty and the clutch lever starts to get slippery.
