Another fine post from the old and unimproved Hawk

Fire Consumes WTC 7-Size Skyscraper, Building Does Not Collapse

A fierce fire consumed all 44 floors of a skyscraper in Beijing today, shooting 30 foot flames into the air, but unlike the similarly-sized 47-story WTC 7, which suffered limited fires across just eight floors, the building in China did not collapse.

“The fire was burning from the ground floor to the top floor of the large building, the flames reflecting in the glass facade of the main CCTV tower next to the hotel and cultural center,” reports the New York Times.

“The 241-room Mandarin Oriental hotel in the building was due to open this year. Flames were spotted around 7:45 p.m. and within 20 minutes the fire had spread throughout the building, dominating that part of the city.”

“Hundreds of firefighting vehicles and police blocked off all approaches to the building - which was also set to house a luxury hotel due to be opened in 2009 - with flames appearing to leap 20 to 30 feet into the air,” adds The London Times.

Compare images of WTC 7 with those of the skyscraper fire in Beijing. Note that the Beijing skyscraper appears to be leaning due to the unorthodox design of the building - it did not suffer any kind of collapse

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WTC-7, and it fell straight down at 32.2 feet per second without really being damaged.

A person is an idiot for beleiving our Governments version on 9/11.

To any sane and rational observer, which of these buildings would have been the most likely to collapse? And yet it was WTC 7 which collapsed within 7 seconds into its own footprint on 9/11. The Beijing skyscraper, though gutted by fire damage, remains standing.

How do the debunkers explain away this one? How come NIST’s newly invented “phenomenon” of “thermal expansion” didn’t put paid to the skyscraper in Beijing? Does fire have different properties in China compared to the U.S.? Does it behave in different ways depending on what country it’s in?

Remember that WTC 7 was structurally reinforced and suffered limited fires across just 8 floors.

Here's one way to approach it:

Would you be more likely to collapse if I

      a) lit you on fire

      b) slammed into you with a passenger jet, and then lit you on fire?

      Just a thought.

Not that I think this will be of any use, as your question appears to be rather rhetorical in nature, but.....

This stuff that makes the jet engine turn roundy round, burns REALLY hot. Much hotter than the stuff that is in the building! There is this really stiff hard stuff the buildings (in both cases) are made out of...yep we call it steel!! It has a much higher melting point than most of the other stuff in the building, and it gets wrapped with this stuff called "fire proofing" to even further protect it from gettign hot. I can tell you from personal expereince that this fireproofing WILL fall off from large vibrations. Thus we have this stuff burning REALLY hot that got sprayed on the REALLY hard stiff stuff after its protective material got shaken off of it, making it kinda gooey instead.

What happens next, well, think if we stripped the skin off your legs and replaced just one of the calf bones in each (not a doctor, do not know the bone names) with spahgetti?? Hmmmmmm. then stood you out in a stiff wind??? Hmmmmmm again.

BTW, the fire in China most likely did not see the temps of air plane fuel.

            Hi Winterhawk,
assuming the WTC and that Chinese building were of similar size and construction, why did the WTC collapse while the chinese building was merely gutted?
How about the Chinese building was lit on fire while each of the WTC towers were hit by a 200 ton fuel bomb going at 300mph?

Speaking as someone who was in the twin towers ON A DAILY BASIS between '84 and '2000, I understand why they fell from the combination of massive structural damage and intense heat of the fire. Having been in the construction trade for nearly 30 years, I regularly got the opportunity to see the interior of the towers in their gutted state, (no interior walls) as the tenant spaces got renovated. Basically, the construction method of the towers had NO internal structural support columns, providing maximum useable (rentable) space. Floor plates were 200' x 200'. I believe they would have collapsed even if there was no fire, just from the structural damage caused by the plane strikes. If you recall, one of the towers suffered a ten-story high (more?) gash down one side.

But I digress. The original post was about 7 World Trade, which is across the street from the twin towers, 1 & 2 World Trade. 7 World Trade suffered structural damage from the debris caused by the collapsed of 1 & 2 World Trade. Imagine the force of an I-beam falling 1/4 mile from the sky and slamming into a building. Yes, the twin towers were THAT tall! 7 World Trade fell a few days after 1 & 2.

When I first saw this post I groaned to myself "no, not again" and promised myself I would not get embroiled in this. But I couldn't help it. It bugs me when people spew on about which they know nothing. Especially this subject. This tragedy hit very close to home for me, not just geographically. I lost friends and clients that day, and this city has never been the same since.

Just to clarify, WTC7 was not hit by airplanes.
It was heavily damaged from debris falling from the twin towers, caught fire and subsequently collapsed.

One side and corner suffered severe damage up to the 15th floor, approximately, which compromised the integrity of the building.

I did not see where the Chinese building suffered similar insult.

The fire system in WTC7 was damaged, or lacked sufficient power, as a large blaze involved the middle floors for several hours.

                Randy beat me to it.

The fire in that building was not likely any where as hot as the fires in the twins and dose not have nearly as much weight over head pushing down.
In any case when i watch "mega builders" on TV it does not seem to matter where the project is in the world it American, German and Swedish designers, architects, engineers, and project mangers who actually build the structures. and in any case the Chinese don't invent much, their just good copy cats and and make stuff cheaper cause chains are cheaper then union dues LOL LOL
                        That's my 2 cents.

                          More conspiracies.

The WTC buildings have been bombed how many times more than the Chinese hotel? Chinese hotels are such prime targets for terrorist activities.

I must be an idiot, because I believe that foreign people who would rather see us infidels die than live peacefully sent some suicidal bastards to drive a 150 ton jet into a tower at 250 kts. Those weren't paper airplanes. They weren't cessna 172s.

Why is it that conspiracy zealots love to trivialize the deaths of patriots and the innocent? Is there nothing sacred? I guess you should be happy, Obama released the terrorists responsible for the deaths of several hundred sailors, closed Gitmo and is probably writing his apology speech for America ever getting in the way of anything contrary to terroristic religions.

Quite frankly, I am getting tired of posts that belittle the heroes of our nation. There are thousands of "black helicopter" sites that will eat this garbage up, why not take it there?

LOL, I hope my kerosene heater does not melt. This is what makes things go round and round. But hey, what do I know I only have a degree in Aeronautics. As far as being banned, this is the lounge and no TOS has been violated.

Let us not forget that in the WTC-7 the Enron investigations were going on. Everybody walked because all the records were destroyed.

IMHO, it was an inside job.

Elevenator. I couldn't agree with you more. There's a faster, better way to get rid of Winterhawk. Go to your User CP page and edit your ignore list. Add his handle to your ignore list and you'll never have to read his stupid crap ever again. I did it with midnight80 back a couple of years ago during the rabbit-shooting episode. Works like a charm.

Goodbye, Winterhawk. Put your tin-foil hat back on and crawl back into whatever hole you crawled out of. And, BTW, I know news travels slow to your neck of the woods, but here's a flash for you - the election is over. Ron Paul didn't win.
