Been keepin' track of what's going on - weather wise - down under. Scorching hot is an understated understatement.

Not the best weather for keeping the XS cooled either.

Too bad you couldn't send some of that heat up this way.

    Stay safe.

Weird Video... Everybody talking funny, driving from the wrong side of the vehicle on the wrong side of thr road. BUT.. watching that Bobble-headed doll impersonation from about the 8:04 minute on was pretty amusing. And they went all out on their emergency security outfits. (Because this little guy would make one feel so secure in an emergency.)

Stay safe Dan. And quit driving the fire vehicles back and forth through the smoke for the camera crews.

Probably not the best video to put up but...

That was the night before the fires went berserk. The death toll is up to 108 now and is expected to grow as the more than 700 destroyed houses are searched. I've been out of the Fire Brigade for almost four years now. I was part of the 2000/2001 fire and that was pretty horrific but this conflagration in Victoria is now the worst natural disaster Australia has ever seen. In some places cars are still parked in driveways, the fire came through so quickly the people didn't have a chance to even leave their homes. Many people who managed to get out were killed in their cars. Fires are still going but none are near here thank goodness.

I guess if you youtube Victoria bushfire you'll see the latest. Dangerous Country this.

I was watching the news reports and hoping that our members in here and their families are all safe. Very sad story and really a kick in the butt when the news said how the fires are in the SE of Australia yet in the NE they are having floods. Terrible...

              Stay safe guys.

The real kick is that some bloody goof ball idiots would actually RESTART the bloomin things AFTER the fire fighters get them out!!!!

I hope those idiots never get to see a court room.

We have had our own "wild fires" here in California this past year. The Oakland fire of several years ago was said to have been exacerbated by the many eucalyptus trees that were growing there. Witnesses said that the fire would race up the loose bark on the trunk of the trees and when the flames reached the top flaming embers would shoot off like a Roman Candle, traveling hundreds of feet, even floating over wide freeways and igniting new fires. Fire in a dry eucalyptus forest must be like an oil fire!
Anyone sick enough to cause this deserves the Braveheart treatment.
I pray that none of our down under brothers get burned!

Old bikers never die, they're just out of sight!

My recently re-built, hopped up '79 Special caught fire and burned everything from the top of the engine up: gas tank, wiring, seat, & melted my windshield all over the front of the bike. Just bought a 1980 Special that has been non oped for 9 years. My Skoot will rise from the ashes and be re named "The Phoenix!"
