Haven't posted on here for a while, just occassional lurking. After going down on my ST last July avoiding a T-bone, kinda took the zest out of me and almost sold all the bikes. Was very fortunate, as I had no helment or gear on(was just going a couple miles to the store).....Hmmmmm, sure you all have heard that before! Dislocated shoulder, stiches in head and serious road rash.......very minor compared to what end result could have been! 40 yrs. of riding street and moto-cross...........it's not if it will happen, just when. Anyway, now it's all the gear all the time. Haven't had the XS out for some three months now, and was really nice out the other day(bout 50degrees.), wasn't sure if it was gonna start or not as the clock and memory on the Alpine stereo is always hooked up. Half tank of gas, pulled the enricher all the way out, hit start button and a couple revolutions it took right off like it had been yesterday since it was started. Hard to beat the durability of those Interstate batteries which is on its third year. After riding some 25 miles, seems that once in your blood, can't give it up now. Bike never missed a lick from lugging down at 1500rpm in fifth, twisting throttle and letting it pull all the way up to 5500rpm in fifth. It never so much as lurched or missed a beat. Had put the merc. sticks on it last fall and left idle mix. alone as it was smooth as glass when idle was brought back up to 1100rpm. and will idle down to 400rpm before it starts to lope a bit and eventually die under that. Almost have all the tupperware back on the ST, and it is with-out a doubt the most visible and fastest color.........three stage pearl white with red pearl and clear-coated over all the correct emblems and logos. After being back on the classic XS Venturer, ready to enjoy riding both bikes again.........ATGATT...........sure most of you here know that acrynym. Be safe, slow down and enjoy. Save the need for speed and fast twisties in controlled track situations and lower your risk in an already existing higher than normal risk sport! Thanks, Brant.

I know what you mean Brant. After being ejected from a high-side at the track last April, and cracking my helmet on the pavement, my laps times have suffered. Seems I can't get my knee to touch the ground anymore. Maybe it's for the better as I now seem to run at a "fun-n-safe" pace rather than pushing the edge. Can't imagine what I'd do if I gave up motorcycling tho. That'd be quite a dilema. Glad to hear your back at it.
