Must sell asap due to emergency. 1981 xs1100sh with full vetter fairing and lowers. Runs but needs some work. Taking offers. Email with questions.

If you look at the pictures link on this site under 81 XS1100SH Lee Gormans bike with fairing and hi rise seat is exact copy of mine. It has 44,000 miles on it. The front left caliper needs attention, slight oil leak on valve cover gasket, and one exhaust gasket needs replacing. I had it out for a ride today. I had recent surgery and I wish I didn't have to sell but times are tough.

I can't guarantee that it would make it problem free. It probably needs carb adjustment or tune up. I think oil leak would be ok if closely monitored.

well if you could e-mail me some pictures that would be great but i'd still have to see it first. i'd be willing to take the chance on getting it back - i'd just take the carbs off of my 79 that are good and my girlfriend would follow behind me with the car (and tools). if i'm lucky maybe i can find a trailer somewhere.

Beach, Uhaul rents open trailers for less than $25 a day.

i thought of that - but do they provide you with a hitch? all i have is a car.

Hmmm.... that gets a little trickier. Call your local uhaul and see what they can do. They do offer bumper hitch rentals. It depends on your car.

Don't you have some friend with a truck or SUV who will do something crazy like drive 600 miles for a free case a beer and a pizza? I thought we all had a friend or three like that. *Grin* ALthough the mental image of you on the bike and your g/f following with tools is pretty good. Sounds sort of like a Tennessee first date.

Thank you for interest in my motorcycle. Lucky for me I was able to secure a favorable loan to help me through this period and I won't need to sell the bike. It was my last option and now thankfully I don't need to sell.
