Rider is by far the best, (I get them all like 7 different ones), Cycle World is the biggest, but is heavily sport bike biased, my new favorites are Roadrunner (Motorcycle Cruising and Touring) they have great rides and pre-printed tank maps etc. and Motorcycle Consumer News. I am actually only going to keep Rider, MCN and Roadrunner, the rest are gone after the subsciption is up. I get American Motorcyclist through the AMA it is just OK but is only provided to members.Gary Granger

All of the above mentioned are excellent, but I'm also a custom bike and harley fan, so I've enjoyed Easyrider, and Hot bike. I'm more into the custom spectrum of these bikes, and some of the work being done on them is really amazing. But for good articles and the whole gamut of bikes covered the others mentioned would better suit your needs.'80 XS1100sg "MadMax"

Motorcyclist has more old bike and used bike stuff than Cycle World. More tech tips and the like.
MY favorite is the Brit rag BIKE. Those cheeky monkeys will say if they don't like something wheras the big US mags all are beholden.Rocky

I get Rider at home. I find it to be the best overall bike magazine. They have good bike reviews and good biker articles about riding safety, mechanics, and places to ride.
I would also highly recommend joining the AMA (American Motorcyclist Association). Their magazine, "American Motorcyclist" is a great mag. and is free with your membership fee. It is full of good articles. It also keep you up to date about the politics of motorcycling, which I find important since motorcyclists rights are being steeped on so much these days. It's also a great org. to support with you membership.

I really enjoy Roadbike Magazine. It is about 75% metric cruiser and 25% American cruiser. there is a bias toward custom and special work, but there are great tech tips, road trip reviews, tool reviews, equip reviews, and more than the occasional article aimed at classic road bikes (ie XS1100's )Jim Sanders ><>
