  • New member wants to upload photos

I know I probably am missing the obvious directions but I need help. I would like to upload several pix of my bike and can't seem to find out how to do that. Can anyone help?
    Thanks for your help.

    Photobucket

is where many of us upload our pics... you can then link to them from there...
It's free and pretty easy to use...

You can also upload a few into your own photo album, in the members photos section under the members tab at the very top of the page.

Duh on my part... forgot about that feature... The pictures do have to be made a bit smaller for the space allowed there...

              Floridabear765:
Most internet service providers (ISPs) give you some space to store photos on-line as part of your account. You may want to contact your ISP on this point and ask for instructions on how to use this feature. Thats how I post my photos, a link to the photo stored on my .mac account. Photobucket is a good alternative and may be easier to use.

I typed up these directions for a guy to use on military.com but you can make minor adjustments to use them here.

                Don

                1. Pick a photo to copy to your computer photos. Left click on mouse, save picture, name it. Now it should be stored in your computer photos.

                2. Sign into your photobucket account. If you already have photos there, you don't have to sign in to share but try it anyways if you are having problems.

                3. Hit the "Browse' button and it will bring up your computer photos to select from. Click on the one you want and it should take you back to the photobucket page with that photo id now showing on the first line next to "browse".

Hit the upload button. It should load if the photo is not too large. It will tell you that the upload was successful and you will see that photo below.

                4. Left click on the words "Direct link" below the picture and you should see a yellow box with the word "Copied" appear.

                5. come on back to the military.com conversation page and just like you want to respond, click that on.

At the top, you will see selections like bold, Italics...click on the one second from the end that looks like a painting. Put the mouse arrow in that area, right click and select "paste". You will see the image id appear in that box. Then click the very small "OK" box just below there. ** Make sure you remember to hit the OK button as that is a step I was missing when I first started.

You should see the image id numbers/letters appear in your message area.

Go ahead and write whatever you want to add, then click "Post Now" like you always do with posts.

See if that works for you.

                Good luck, Don
