Yes in deed that drain is in a tough spot so building a 4X4 cradle will be necessary for easy access.

It's here now so it's electrial question time.

OK... Unit says 15 Amp / 208 to 220 Volts / Single phase. So the question is .. How do I get the 208 - 220 volts on the 15 amp circuit? I've never done that sort of set up.

Thats the same size circuit I had to put in for my air conditioner.Use a 15a double pull with 14-2 or 12-2 wire(I used 12-2).

I also wanted to use the same circuit for my welder. So I ran wire to a heavy rocker switch on the wall so I can cut out the compressor while I ues the welder. The compressor is hard wired. Then I ran wire to a 220 outlet(a dryer type plug). So when I use the welder I can just wheel it over and plug it in.I can also take my welder over to a friends shop when I work on my demoltion car.

Doesn't a double pull give you 30 amps Like my AC and my Stove?, or are you using a double pull with 2 X 10 Amp breakers. It also calls for a "delay" type breakers which must be for when the unit starts up and draws more amperage. Would 2 X 10 amp likely not require the need for the delay? Can you even get 10 amp breakers?

            Rob,
You need 15 Amp on EACH LEG of the circuit. You will need a 15 Amp dual breaker for the circuit, and I would run 12 gauge wire. You can get a 12 gauge romax type wire with Black, White, Red, and Ground. That is what you will need.

OK .. so it's really the same set up as running a line for my dryer. is this correct?

                  Rubber

If you need to position your compressor higher to facilitate proper drainage, may I suggest Rubber blocks. They will keep everything in its place, and dampen vibration as well as noise. I used a couple of rubbers found in an oilfield supply house for my last one and wish I had set this one up the same.

That's good advise and a friend who runs a friend who runs a garage suggested mounting it on hockey pucks and also gave me a contact name at a compressor shop that can sell me everything I will need to get it set up safe and proper.

                          WOW ... What A MESS

Well I have started making a home for the compressor in the garage and I must say I've now have a pretty big mess on my hands. Anyone who knows me will know that when my garage looks like this my hair is likely ready to fall out . Anyway I have decided to supply power to the compressor through a selector switch that will be mounted in the garage. That way i will not have to go into the basement utility room to turn the power on. I will pretty much wire a standard dryer plug onto the compressor and its plug will be selectable by the switch. when the switch is on the dryer will not be usable. The wiring will be next size up from the fuse box to the switch where the compressor or dryer can be selected. When the dryer is selected a second line will simply go back to the panel box and to the dryer like a loop. A device box will be needed next to the panel.

                          Here's the MESS LOL lOL

                            What mess?

                            Hi Rob,
imagine more clutter than in your pic plus a Buick Le Sabre squeezed in there and you'll have a mental image of my garage. You can still see the floor in yours.
OK so you can power up the compressor without going down to the basement.
But your wife has to go up to the garage to turn on the dryer?
                            Good luck with that.

Ya, laid out sideways would be way too big for the space I have here. Garage is 19 x 10 feet and needs to hold 3 motorcycles of which one is usually apart and all the tools and supplies to do the projects. In the summer time I can ether roll the bikes out to make room of do the work outside. I can't wait till summer
